WHAT IS UNIONS BALLARAT

The Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council is the second oldest Trades and Labour Council in the world, founded in 1883 on the back of the Ballarat Eight Hour Committees established in 1856.  


Trades Hall helps organise activities and campaigns with and on behalf of our affiliated unions. Some of the work Trades Hall is regularly involved in includes:

Trades Hall is comprised of 27 affiliated unions, representing over 17,800 members in our region. Our region covers Ballarat, Horsham, Stawell, Ararat, Daylesford, Maryborough, Bacchus Marsh and areas between.





HOW WE MAKE DECISIONS


The Council meets monthly with Delegates from affiliated unions, our Executive is elected by Members for two year terms.
